We are doing all we can to make your stay as safe as possible. The Kegworth Hotel is certified compliant by OYO hotels to its stringent "sanitised stay" standard.
We keep up to date with government guidance and are in touch with local authorities and regulatory agencies to determine what’s appropriate for people safety in our buildings and grounds.
As part of the OYO group we have benefited from worldwide expertise in managing “covid safe” stays – learning from how other countries and continents have managed emergence from lockdown. As an independent and flexible hotel, we are able to implement changes with greater ease and commitment than the big groups.
Processes that promote safety. You will notice some changes in our normal booking process. For example, we will try and complete a lot of the formalities of booking and check in/ check out remotely. You will still be greeted personally – albeit, we may be behind some subtle barriers. This is because we still want to make your stay personal and we still want to be vigilant about who is in our hotel, for the sake of everyone’s safety. You will be asked to sign (with a sanitised pen!) a covid symptom free declaration. Whilst we won’t take your temperature, we reserve the right to do this (remotely, of course). You’d also want the assurance that other residents and our staff are similarly symptom free.
We will store contact details for at least 21 days to assist the government’s track and trace initiative.
We know that there is a significant boost to covid safety if we are able to able to rest rooms between guest occupations. We therefore rest each room for 50 hours between change of occupants. Most other hotels cannot offer this and still offer a competitive rate. Rooms are sanitised and linen and bedding is cleaned at a high enough temperature compliant with covid safety.
During lockdown, unlike other hotels we stayed open and supported housing key workers and other key initiatives. That experience has helped us fine tune our implementation and management of covid safe environments for guests, staff and all visitors.
Our food service – with an extensive menu is now resumed. Remote ordering is the norm and you can have food in your room. Our rooms are spacious so this should a safe, pleasant and comfortable experience. Those that can legitimately group (under government legislation) can be offered a private or socially distanced dining area. You will be pleased to hear also that we have spacious lounges and common areas – especially so after having recently refurbished and expanded the hotel.
Staff will use PPE as required. Whilst the current guidance is for social distancing to be the primary weapon against covid spread and masks are optional, we have plentiful supply for our staff. Guests/visitors can purchase face masks at minimal cost.
There are sanitisation points within a few yards of hotel entry points, lounge areas and your rooms. You can get dispensed, touch-free, measured amount of alcohol based sanitisation gel – that way you can keep your room a “safe zone”.

Book direct to get the best deals and support your nation's business. The majority of agents are overseas based, avoid paying UK taxes and did hardly anything to support actual hotels during the covid crisis (some even shut their booking engines so they don't have to field enquiries!). When you book through an agent, typically as much as 25 pence per Pound will be sliced off the service/product value for the agent. That loss in value has to be paid for somehow and usually that's in higher than needed pricing or poorer service. It does next to nothing for the value you receive when you book through an internet based agent. Book direct to get the best service, best deals and best value and to support UK jobs your national businesses.

There is easy access to Donington Park racing and the cities of Nottingham, Derby and Loughborough, all of which are under 20 minutes drive away.
We had an early flight from East Midlands Airport and found that most of the Airport hotels were not available or very expensive due to the Download Festival at Donnington. We found this hotel through Expedia and were not disappointed. The front desk staff were very efficient, helpful and informative. I am not sure if we were upgraded but the rooms were very well equipped, clean and comfortable. The bar staff were lovely and Danii our waitress in the restaurant was delightful. Next time we are flying from EMA or in the area we will look up this hotel first and recommend it to anyone. David - verified Review via Expedia.com. 9 June 2018
"Mothering Sunday" - Had a lovely 3 course meal with family, nothing was too much effort. We were a party of 10 and the manager was very attentive as well as the staff on the day. The trio of desserts were amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The quantity of meat given in the carvery was very generous and vegetables cooked lovely, not too hard or soft. Would definitely recommend. A small bottle of Prosecco was given to the mums on the day and was a lovely touch to end the meal. Thank you Stayed March 2017, travelled with family. We came with national holidays on easter saterday 2017 for a over night stay and was more than happy with the hotel . We had a small problem with the TV and the lady who dealt with it was more than happy to try and sort it out but because it couldn't be sorted she got us a different room. Didn't make me feel like I was just been a moaner or out she was more than happy to sort it. We ended up in a better room because my LG woke up in the morning to see squirrels playing just over the car park which she loved.Evening meal and breakfast were both lovely and so was all the staff.and hotel was clean and.tidy no complaints at all from us my LG even found a little flower out side she took it back to hotel put it in a glass of water and written a thank you note for the staff and handed it to the lady in reception. "Fabulous Wedding" - First time we have stayed at this venue, attending our friends wedding reception. The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and plenty of room with even a table and chairs and toiletries. A lovely tea tray with tea bags, coffee and biscuits. Breakfast on Sunday morning was brilliant selection of cooked, cereals, toast and pastries with the usual tea, coffee, juice and water. Would definitely recommend a stay here, we were in room 20 and could hear a slight mumble from the road but did not disturb our sleep. Stayed February 2017, travelled as a couple. "Great Mistake" - My planning team booked me in here by mistake and I decided to stay rather that cancel and rebook. I'm glad I did because this hotel is great. It's a nice change from the double tree. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a sofa, table and large TV. This would be a suite in a chain hotel. The bathroom had a nice deep bath, ideal for relaxing after a long day and 220 mile drive. The food from the restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. I didn't have time to use the gym and the pool and sauna were closed but I'll be using them when I come back. Stayed February 2017, travelled on business. Trip Advisor review Feb 17
